    ILO's Raymond Torres, Director of the ILO's Institute for International Labour Studies, told CNN's Richard Quest that austerity measures and reductions of public deficit must be accompanied by a growth strategy and an emphasis on job promotion. He also warned of the growing risk of social unrest.

    In an interview with CNBC Europe's Worldwide Exchange, the ILO's Raymond Torres, Director of the International Institute for Labour Studies, warned that "aggressive reductions in public deficits may be counterproductive" and stressed the importance of a growth and employment strategy which at the moment is completely missing.

    ILO's Theodor Sparreboom, Senior Economist, presents the current youth unemployment rates, which at a global level, are stuck at 12,7%. The situation is worsening, especially in developed economies, where the average rate has not returned to pre-crisis levels. The ILO Global Employment Trends for Youth Report 2012 also warns of the dramatic deterioration of the labour situation for young people, who increaingly are employed in part-time and temporary jobs, as they have no other alternatives.
