Workshops with representatives from relevant government and education institutions as well as employers' and workers' representatives from the respective sectors were organized in Dhaka in September and December 2011 to discuss and validate initial findings and promote skills dialogue among stakeholders.

The Clinic will provide a venue for evaluation specialists to collaborate with youth employment and enterprise project teams from the Middle East and North Africa for the development of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plans. The 4-day event will include a series of interactive “consultation” sessions, lectures from technology, data, and evaluation experts, and the launch of a series of innovative Monitoring&Evaluation systems. Collaborating with Youth and Employment Network (YEN)on the delivery of the Clinic will be Silatech, 3ie, the Middle East Youth Initiative, Innovations for Poverty Action and the World Bank.

The International Day of Cooperatives addresses the need for all cooperative stakeholders to promote the participation of young people in the cooperative movement.This year's theme highlights how the cooperative model of enterprise can successfully empower youth. It links to the celebration of the United Nations International Year of Youth, which encourages dialogue and understanding across generations and promotes the ideals of peace, respect for human rights and freedoms, and solidarity .

This panel will explore key employment, social and political challenges faced by youth in different regions of the world through the voices of a diverse group of panellists engaged in the advancement of young people’s position in society. Particular emphasis will be placed on young people’s role in promoting social justice in today’s world.

This panel will review recent developments in the region through the perspective of young people who made these changes happen by tackling the challenges of exclusion, poverty and inequality. Five young activists from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia and Yemen, who were influential in profiling key issues, participating in protests and mobilizing peers into action on the streets of several cities of North Africa and the Middle East, will shed light on the socio-economic factors that drove them to become “agents of history”.
