  4. Youth Employment Forum

    As youth unemployment reaches unprecedented levels in many countries, the ILO is to hold a Global Youth Employment Forum to address the challenges young people face in the labour market. A hundred young men and women (aged 18-29), from all regions of the world will share their experiences and views on the current employment situation and discuss practical examples of successful initiatives which have led to the promotion of decent work for youth.

  5. ILO Consultation in Brussels: "Decent Work for Youth – the EU Dimension"

    On 16 March 2012, the ILO and the EESC co-organised a Consultation in Brussels, titled Decent Work for Youth – the EU Dimension. This event took place in the run-up to the ILO's 2012 International Labour Conference (ILC), where a discussion on Youth Employment will be held. The ILO is organizing 45 national and regional ILO consultations on youth employment around the world in March 2012. The results of the Brussels Consultation will be used as an input for the June 2012 International Labour Conference, and for the ILO Youth Employment forum taking place on 23-25 May 2012.

  6. Breaking ground: Partnerships for more and better jobs for young people

    An event co organized by the ILO, the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) to strengthen the partnership between governments and the private sector in advancing youth employment and decent work.

  7. Skills for Trade and Economic Diversification in Bangladesh: The Case of Agro Food and Pharmaceuticals Workshops

  9. Evaluation Clinic: Taqeem Fund for Evaluation in Youth Employment

    The Clinic will provide a venue for evaluation specialists to collaborate with youth employment and enterprise project teams from the Middle East and North Africa for the development of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plans. The 4-day event will include a series of interactive “consultation” sessions, lectures from technology, data, and evaluation experts, and the launch of a series of innovative Monitoring&Evaluation systems. Collaborating with Youth and Employment Network (YEN)on the delivery of the Clinic will be Silatech, 3ie, the Middle East Youth Initiative, Innovations for Poverty Action and the World Bank.

  10. International Day of Co-operatives- “Youth, the future of co-operative enterprise” (2 July 2011)

    The International Day of Cooperatives addresses the need for all cooperative stakeholders to promote the participation of young people in the cooperative movement.This year's theme highlights how the cooperative model of enterprise can successfully empower youth. It links to the celebration of the United Nations International Year of Youth, which encourages dialogue and understanding across generations and promotes the ideals of peace, respect for human rights and freedoms, and solidarity .
