The global jobs crisis is hitting the younger generation hard. According to the ILO, worldwide over 75 million young people are out of work and the problem is especially acute in countries like Spain that have been hard hit by the Euro crisis.

Young people have been disproportionately affected by the global crisis that broke out in the autumn of 2008. This trend has exacerbated earlier challenges and there is concern that unless action is taken, the situation of youth will become unsustainable, putting social cohesion at threat.
