Thanks to advances in antiretroviral treatment, people living with HIV are living healthy and productive lives. In some countries, among others Malaysia, people living with HIV are denied insurance coverage because of their HIV status. This study, undertaken by the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) with the support of the ILO, provides evidence and makes a compelling argument for inclusion of HIV in public and private health insurance not just in Malaysia but in other parts of the world.
