XXIXth International Symposium of the ISSA Construction Section on Occupational Safety and Health in the Construction Industry

The ISSA Construction Section was founded in 1968 and is one of the 11 International Sections on Prevention.

During the 20th century, the construction sector went through considerable changes in the technical, economical and social fields. Designing and using new processes, looking for a better architectural and functional quality as well as for new ways of work organisation, are changing and influencing the construction industry.

But, in spite of undoubted progress, which may vary according to the different countries the fight against risks of injuries and damage to health still remains the main challenge in the construction industry.

The purpose of ISSA Construction Section is to carry on international actions intending to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases.
