    Workshop to prepare for a Sector Study in Nepal (ECLM project)

    A Workshop was held in Kathmandu from Aug 29 – Sep 2 2016 in the context of the project "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM). The workshop was organised in collaboration with a team of researchers from Social Science Baha, and discussed the implementation of a study of the manufacturing and trade sectors.     Workshop to prepare for a Sector Study in Côte d'Ivoire (ECLM project)

    A Workshop was held in Abidjan from August 15 - 19 in the context of the project "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM). The Workshop was organized in collaboration with the Laboratoire de Sociologie Economique et d'Anthropologie des Appartenances Symboliques (LAASSE), Université FHB d'Abidjan, and discussed the implementation of a study of the agriculture and trade sectors.     A Workshop was held in Bishkek from July 25-29 in in the context of the project "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM). The workshop was organised in collaboration with OcOO DialectICON, a research institution in Kyrgyzstan, and discussed the implementation of a study of the manufacturing and trade sectors.

    Tripartite Meeting of Experts to Develop Guidance on Fair Recruitment

    The ILO Governing Body at its 326th Session agreed to convene in September 2016 a three-day “Tripartite Meeting of Experts to Develop Guidance on Fair Recruitment”, with the objective to adopt ILO guidelines on fair recruitment, encompassing both cross-border and national recruitment. The outcomes of such a meeting will inform the general discussion on labour migration that has been included on the agenda of the International Labour Conference in June 2017, as well as the second recurrent discussion on fundamental principles and rights at work.

    Tripartite Technical Meeting on the Access of Refugees and other Forcibly Displaced Persons to the Labour Market

    The Governing Body at its 326th Session agreed to convene a “Tripartite technical meeting on the access of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons to the labour market” with the objective to provide practical guidance on the application of policy measures to facilitate refugee and displaced persons access to the labour market in a manner that yields positive gains for concerned populations, as well as host working populations.
