    Gender equality in labour migration law, policy and management (GEM Toolkit)

    The Gender equality in labour migration laws, policy and management GEM Toolkits is a set of nine practical tools, developed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) to facilitate the implementation of gender mainstreaming strategies in labour migration and related employment, social protection, and equality laws, policies, programmes, projects, as well as in day-to-day labour migration management practices.

    Workshop to prepare for a Sector Study in Nepal (ECLM project)

    A Workshop was held in Kathmandu from Aug 29 – Sep 2 2016 in the context of the project "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM). The workshop was organised in collaboration with a team of researchers from Social Science Baha, and discussed the implementation of a study of the manufacturing and trade sectors.     Regional guidelines on the return and reintegration of migrant workers participating in the Employment Permit System of the Republic of Korea

    Since 2012, the ILO-Korea Partnership Programme labour migration component has focused on migration and development. Research and national and regional workshops have focused on return and reintegration, leading to the development and adoption of these Regional Guidelines on Return and Reintegration Programmes.

    Smart remittance guide for workers migrating to the Republic of Korea

    The Smart Remittance Guide has been prepared for migrant workers to inform them of the procedures to send remittances from the Republic of Korea through regular channels. The purpose of distributing this information is to improve migrant workers’ ability to send home remittances in a safe, cost-conscious, and transparent manner. Since 2012, the ILO-Korea Partnership Programme labour migration component has focused on migration and development. Research on remittance service in the Republic of Korea and remittance sending patterns of migrant workers in the Republic of Korea have led to the production of this brochure.

    The cost of migration: What low-skilled migrant workers from Pakistan pay to work in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates

    This report presents the findings of a survey on migration expenses that Pakistani workers paid to secure jobs in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The focus is on low-skilled migrants, who are the most vulnerable because of their low educational qualifications and limited asset base.
