National Consultation Seminar on assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in South Africa (ECLM project)

A National Consultation Seminar was held in Pretoria on June 23, 2015, and brought together more than 40 policymakers, government officials and experts to discuss on various aspects of the role of migrant labour in South Africa, in the context of the "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM) project. SADSAWU Strategy Development Workshop for Organizing and Recruiting Migrant Domestic Workers

The South African Domestic Services and Allied Workers Union (SADSAWU) organized a strategic planning workshop with an aim to review the activities for recruitment and organising of migrant domestic workers in South Africa. The workshop took place in the framework of the Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their families (GAP-MDW).

Tri-National Workers Workshop: Towards Promotion of Decent Work for Migrant Domestic Workers along the Lesotho-Zimbabwe-South Africa Corridor

Trade unions and domestic workers’ organizations from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Lesotho developed a common action plan and a strategy to promote migrant domestic workers’ rights at the tri-national workshop, organized in the framework of the EU funded Global Action Programme for Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families (GAP-MDW).

South African Development Community(SDAC) Labour Migration Workshop
21 - 23 August 2013
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) secretariat, with the support of the ILO and the IOM, convened a strategic labour migration workshop for the sub-region, to enhance the SADC Action Plan on Labour Migration which focused on policy assessment, social security, data collection and low and high-skilled migration.
