    64 participants from Argentina and Paraguay discussed and exchanged experiences in promoting and defending the rights of migrant domestic workers at the bi-national workshop on Strategies for Promoting the Rights of Migrant Domestic Workers in Paraguay-Argentina organized under the auspices of the EU funded Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and Their Families (GAP-MDW).

    Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and domestic workers’ organizations of Paraguay with the support of the ILO Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families (GAP-MDW) launched a campaign to promote domestic workers' rights and to improve compliance with the national law.

  1. Workshop to Discuss Research Findings on Migrant Domestic Workers in Paraguay-Argentina corridor

    Representatives of workers’ organizations defined a platform for action in Argentina upon validation of baseline studies on migrant domestic workers in the Paraguay-Argentina corridor, conducted under the auspices of the Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families (GAP-MDW).

  2. Workshop on the Status of Migrant Domestic Workers and Their Families in Paraguay-Argentina Migration Corridor

    30 representatives of the government, employers’ organizations, trade unions, domestic workers’ organizations, academia and civil society organizations discussed research findings and policy implications of a study on migrant domestic workers’ rights in the Paraguay-Argentina, conducted under the auspices of the Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers (GAP-MDW).

  1. Planning Meetings on the Community of Practice Network for Domestic and Migrant Domestic Workers

    22 - 25 September 2014

    International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF) conducted a series of visioning and planning workshops under the auspices of the Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families (GAP-MDW) in order to identify priority products and services to be delivered to migrant domestic workers through the established Community of Practice (CoP) and to train IDWF members to use the tool.

  2. Regional Communication and Advocacy Workshop for Domestic Workers in Latin America

    22 - 26 September 2014

    Representatives of 20 domestic workers’ organizations attended the regional workshop on Strengthening Labour Rights and Social Protection with a view to strengthen their national capacities and mobilize for domestic and migrant domestic workers’ rights.

  3. Paraguay-Argentina Bi-national Workshop on Decent Work for Migrant Domestic Workers

    20 - 21 September 2014

    Paraguay and Argentina establish a joint working agenda and develop an action plan on migration in order to promote decent work for migrant domestic workers at the bi-national meeting on Building a Labour Strategy for Decent Work of Migrant Domestic Workers, organized in the framework of the EU funded Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and their Families (GAP-MDW).

  1. Workshop on Pension Portability Rights for Returnee Migrant Domestic Workers in Paraguay

    A tripartite workshop was organized by the ILO in Asunción, Paraguay, to discuss research findings and policy implications of a study on challenges for the implementation of pension portability rights for returnee migrant domestic workers in compliance with the ratified MERCOSUR treaty on Social Security.

    The Tripartite Commission on Equal Opportunities (CTIO) of Argentina organized a consultation meeting in the framework of the Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers (GAP-MDW) to discuss challenges for the implementation of the recently adopted law on domestic work.

  2. Regional Domestic Workers Knowledge Sharing Forum in Latin America

    4 - 6 December 2013

    Representatives of governments, employers and workers discussed best practices and shared expertise on social security systems for domestic workers, their better protection and reduction of occupational hazards.
