Albert Bonasahat Profile
Mr. Albert Bonasahat received his LL.M degree from the Faculty of Law, University of Utrecht, the Netherlands with honors, his LL.B. from Atma Jaya Catholic University Jakarta, and went to short course program on legal aid services including on specific subjects, among other, social analysis, gender and injustice situation, and labor case studies. Mr. Albert Bonasahat has first worked for the ILO in ILO Jakarta Office in 2006 as National Project Coordinator (NPC) of the Combating Forced Labour and Trafficking of Indonesian Migrant Workers’ Project, a labour migration project funded by the Norwegian Embassy in Indonesia, with project areas covering Indonesia, and some countries of destination of Indonesia migrant workers: Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong (SAR). He served as the NPC of the same project up to March 2012. Since May 2012, he has been joining another project team on labour migration as the NPC of the ASEAN Triangle Project; one ILO’s regional labour migration project funded by the Government of Canada, with project areas covering ASEAN region, which will run until 2016. During his employment with the ILO for the last 8 years, Albert Bonasahat has been involved in developing, delivering and supervising various training on labour migration, in providing technical assistance to ILO tripartite constituents in Indonesia on relevant International Labour Standards, as well as in taking roles in managing technical cooperation projects on labour migration. Prior to joining the ILO, he was the Program Officer of Solidarity Center, Jakarta Office, an international NGOs affiliated with the AFL-CIO, the largest federation of unions in the US.
