BIOGRAPHY

Ms. Samia Kazi Aoul - Chaillou is a labour migration specialist and the focal point for the Africa region on labour migration and mobility. She provides policy guidance and technical support to ILO’s constituents in the region. She first joined the ILO in 2004 as an Associate Expert in social protection in ILO Algiers' office. In 2008-2011, she was in charge of the implementation of an ILO project funded by the German government entitled Extending social security coverage to African migrant workers (MIGSEC). Before 2004, she worked for NGOs and research centres in Algeria, India, Canada and France. She graduated from the University of Panthéon-Sorbonne (Paris) in Economics and Development and from the University of Québec at Montréal (Canada) in Political Science, International Relations and Cooperation.
