Samia Kazi Aoul-Chaillou Profile
Ms. Samia Kazi Aoul-Chaillou is an International Migration technical officer in the Labour Migration Branch of the ILO in Geneva. Focal point for Africa, she is responsible for backstopping ILO projects and providing technical support to ILO’s constituents in the region. She first joined the ILO in 2004 as an associate expert in social protection in ILO Algiers' office.
In 2008-2011, she was in charge of the implementation of an ILO project financed by the German government entitled Extending social security coverage to African migrant workers (MIGSEC). In 2006-2007, she worked in Algeria for CISP, an Italian NGO, on an AENEAS project. She was in charge of the coordination of research activities on the profile of undocumented migrants in Northern Africa. Previously, she worked in India as a program coordinator for PlaNet Finance and as a researcher for the Centre of Human Science (Delhi). Also, she worked two years as a researcher at the University of Québec at Montréal (Canada).
She graduated from the University of Panthéon Sorbonne in Economics and Development and from the University du Québec at Montréal in Political Science, International Relations and Cooperation.
