Implemented between June 2019 – June 2021, the project was undertaken by the ILO, with Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency (KoSEA) as an implementing partner. Funded by the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL), the project aimed to enhance the understanding of ILO constituents and other relevant stakeholders on the SSE in six countries in Asia (China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Republic of Korea). It also aimed to provide technical support to countries to develop and/or mainstream SSE in their national development policies and programmes.

This final evaluation is an internal assessment of project performance, and outcomes. It identifies good practices and draws lessons and forward-looking recommendations. The evaluation serves both accountability and learning purposes.

The ILO has launched the second phase of the project with six additional countries as focus: Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Thailand and Vietnam. For more information on the second phase of the project, see here.
