Cooperatives provide education and training for their members, elected representatives, managers, and employees so they can contribute effectively to the development of their cooperatives. They inform the general public, particularly young people and opinion leaders, about the nature and benefits of co-operation.
The Cooperative University of Colombia, with its multicampus model, contributes through education and the development of competencies. They succeeded in creation of scientific, technological and innovation capacities matching the needs and potential of the different territories, looking at the global demands of a solidary economy for sustainable development.

International Cooperative Alliance Global Youth Forum 2020 on Cooperative Entrepreneurship (
GYF20) took place in Kuching (Sarawak, Malaysia) in February 2020 and gathered more than 180 participants from 50 countries from all ICA regions, who actively engaged in 110 interactive training sessions on cooperative entrepreneurship.

Niassa is located in the far north of Mozambique, "Away," say the Niassas themselves. Here, We Effect collaborates with local farmers' organizations in study circles to train the farmers. Improving harvests by around 20 percent can make the difference between hunger and constant anxiety and food security and peace of mind, it also means three meals a day and money for school uniforms and supplies.
