New industrial relations framework in respect of the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles & Rights at Work (NIRF/FPRW) in Viet Nam

The project's development goal is to contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic growth of Vietnam by building effective industrial relations institutions and practices based on freedom of association and effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.

The development goal of the project will be pursued through the achievement of the following interlinked objectives:

- Objective 1: Strengthen the industrial relations legal and institutional framework to conform to the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

- objective 2: Facilitate the Government’s introduction of necessary institutional changes to administer the legal framework in line with Vietnam’s international obligations as an ILO member State.

- Objective 3: Strengthen the capacity of labour inspection to enforce national and international labour standards.

- objective 4: Strengthen rights to freedom of association and the right to organize as well as the capacity of trade unions to represent workers at all levels, especially in relation to collective bargaining and social dialogue.

- Objective 5: Enhance employers’ capacity to engage in the development of new labour laws and comply with them, as well as VCCI’s members’ compliance.

- objective 6: Strengthen public support and industrial relations practitioners’ capacity for better compliance with a new industrial relations framework.
