Background Paper for the Tripartite Meeting of Experts to Examine the Termination of Employment Convention and Recommendation

The purpose of this paper is to provide background elements for the Meeting of Experts convened in Geneva on 18-21 April 2011 to examine the Termination of Employment Convention, 1982 (No. 158) and the Termination of Employment Recommendation, 1982 (No. 166). The paper is divided into five parts, concluding with proposed points for discussion by the Meeting of Experts.
