The instruments examined in this survey are part of the wide and varied context of the body of international labour standards, all of which aim to guarantee a minimal universal threshold of protection for workers in the sectors covered. This report also describes the situation with regard to national laws and practices, in addition to the regional and international cooperation on labour inspection in the economic sectors covered. Whenever possible, good practices are highlighted and identified as well as specific difficulties that prevent or hinder the implementation of the provisions of these instruments.
