1. 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting – Special Session on "Youth Leaders Forum"

   4 December 2011

   This panel invited young leaders from across Asia, the Pacific and the Arab States to share their perspectives on how young people can effectively contribute to “Building a sustainable future with decent work”, the theme of the 15th APRM.

2. 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting – Special Session on “Natural Disaster Response with a Central Focus on Employment Policy” by the Government of Japan

   5 December 2011

   Asia and the Pacific is the more affected by natural disasters than any other region of the world. This Special Session, organised by the Government of Japan, discusses the central role of employment policies in natural disaster response. It includes discussions of lessons learned from past as well as continuing natural disaster response efforts in the region.

   15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting - Thematic panel I: Coordinated macroeconomic, employment and social protection policies

   5 December 2011

   This panel considers ways that trade and investment policies can work with tax and social protection systems to support employment, and ensure that the benefits of growth and productivity are shared more widely.

   15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting - Thematic panel II: Productive employment, sustainable enterprises and skills development

   5 December 2011

   This panel looks at issues relating to poverty reduction, productive employment and social and economic mobility, and particular attention is given to the needs of young people.

5. 15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting – Special session on “Sustaining the Future with Green Jobs”

   5 December 2011

   This panel shares information on the opportunities and challenges created by the shift to sustainable patterns of growth. It looks at ways that 'climate smart' policies can create jobs while ensuring the just transition necessary to allow workers and employers to adapt to new roles and responsibilities.

   15th Asia and Pacific Regional Meeting - Thematic panel III: Rights at work and social dialogue

   6 December 2011

   Discussions in this panel focuses on how governments can reduce informality, regulate the employment relationship and target persistent discrimination.

7. 15th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting – Special Session on "Partnerships for decent work"

   6 December 2011

   This panel focuses on ways to support the building of new, stronger partnerships for decent work in Asia-Pacific. It looks at different types of partnerships, including public-private partnerships, south-south and triangular cooperation, and consider new dimensions for established ILO partnerships.
