Report of the ILO Director-General
This report provides a framework for how best to accelerate the realization and deepen the real impact of the Decent Work Agenda on Africa’s ordinary people, in particular its young people.
Background documents
36 stories have been collected from across the African region and grouped into three main chapters whose titles reflect a “virtuous triangle” of opportunities, protection, and empowerment.
Following the discussions during the 2nd African Decent Work Symposium and those during the 100th ILC, this document sets out a plan of action as requested by the Yaoundé Tripartite Declaration, to be reviewed by ILO delegates at the 12th African Regional Meeting.
Discussions in plenary will be interspersed with a series of parallel discussions on the following themes:
| 12th African Regional Meeting: Debate "Promoting employment and Decent Work for youth" |
Delegates are kindly reminded that for security purposes they must carry with them at all times a valid photo identity document as well as their official 12th African Regional Meeting badge. In case of a control the security officers are required to check the official badge against such photo identity.
