  1. Meeting of Experts to Adopt Guidelines on the Training of Ships’ Cooks

    A Meeting of Experts will be held with the purpose of reviewing an initial draft and adopting guidelines for ships’ cooks.

    Public and private sector organizations throughout the world are increasingly concerned with improving occupational safety and health (OSH). In both developed and developing countries, the rapid pace of technological change, combined with the persistence of unsafe or environmentally threatening working conditions, has served to focus attention on the need to create a safe, healthy working environment and to promote a new safety culture at the workplace.

  3. 19th International Conference of Labour Statisticians, 2-11 October 2013

    2 - 11 October 2013, Geneva, Switzerland

    The 19th International Conference of Labour Statisticians has been convened by the Governing Body of the International Labour Office to take place on 2-11 October 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland. The Conference will consider for adoption revised draft standards of labour force and work statistics, including a set of measures of labour underutilization to supplement the unemployment rate. If adopted, the revised statistical standards will update the resolution of statistics of the economically active population, employment, unemployment and underemployment adopted by the 13th ICLS (1982), and related guidelines.

    The general objective of this course is to strengthen the capacity of planning, developing and governing the national efforts to improve the OSH.

  1. XX Congress on Safety and Health at Work: "Sharing a Vision for Sustainable Prevention"

    The World Congress, organized every three years since 1955, provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge, practices and experiences for all occupational safety and health specialists, employers and managers, trade unions, public administration, insurance and social security professionals, manufacturers and importers, as well as anyone with an interest in safety and health at work.
