1. Youth Employment Forum

   23 - 25 May 2012, Geneva, ILO Headquarters

   As youth unemployment reaches unprecedented levels in many countries, the ILO is to hold a Global Youth Employment Forum to address the challenges young people face in the labour market. A hundred young men and women (aged 18-29), from all regions of the world will share their experiences and views on the current employment situation and discuss practical examples of successful initiatives which have led to the promotion of decent work for youth.

2. 101st Session of the International Labour Conference

   30 May - 15 June 2012, Geneva

   The 101st session of the International Labour Conference of the ILO, is to be held in Geneva (Switzerland) from 30 May to 15 June 2012. Each member State of the ILO is represented by a delegation consisting of two government delegates, an employer delegate, a worker delegate and their respective advisers.

   Occupational safety and health management in the enterprise

   4 - 15 June 2012, International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, Italy

   The general objective of the course is to strengthen the capacity for the implementation and development of OSH management practices in enterprises.

   World Day Against Child Labour 2012

   12 June 2012, Worldwide

   This year the World Day Against Child Labour will provide a spotlight on the right of all children to be protected from child labour and from other violations of fundamental human rights. In 2010 the international community adopted a Roadmap for achieving the elimination of the worst forms of child labour by 2016, which stressed that child labour is an impediment to children’s rights and a barrier to development. World Day 2012 will highlight the work that needs to be done to make the roadmap a reality.

   XIX International AIDS Conference

   ILO/AIDS is participating to the conference which will take place in Washington, D.C. on 22-27 July 2012 under the theme "Turning the Tide Together".

7. Training Workshop on Prevention of Pneumoconioses (using the ILO 2011 Classification of Radiographs of Pneumoconioses)

   17 - 20 September 2012, Lima, Peru

   This training workshop, which is jointly organized by the ILO Programme on Safety and Health at Work and the Environment (SafeWork) and the National Institute of Health in Peru (NIS-CENSOPAS), aims to upgrade the skills of occupational physicians, chest doctors, radiologists, and pulmonologists for the effective use of the ILO 2011 International Classification of Radiographs for early detection and health surveillance of pneumoconiosis. In addition to its advanced training program, the workshop includes the national test for certification of X-ray readings for pneumoconiosis developed by NIH-CENSOPAS.

   Employment injury schemes and the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases

   The general objective of the course is to strengthen the capacity of employment-injury institutions to improve the coverage and management of occupational accidents and diseases and to promote prevention as a means to occupational safety and health.

9. 11th session of the Joint ILO/UNESCO Committee of Experts on the Application of the Recommendations concerning Teaching Personnel (CEART)

   8 - 12 October 2012, Geneva, Switzerland

    SOLVE training of trainers: Integrating health promotion in occupational safety and health policies

    12 - 23 November 2012, International Training Centre of the ILO, Turin, Italy

    The overall objective of this course is to develop knowledge and skills that will lead to the integration of the psychosocial and health promotion issues into a comprehensive enterprise policy and establish a framework for preventative action. This course will be held in French.
