  1. Labour Migration Information Sharing Session

    17 - 18 July 2015

    A two-day labour migration information sharing session was convened by the Zimbabwean Ministry of Labour and Social Security, to review and update the national draft labour migration policy and validate progress in the Migrant Doemstic Workers Global Action Programme which Zimbabwe is part of. Over 40 participants from a range of ministries, international organisations (IOM), social partners and the IFRC EU funded project on trafficking and Migrant Domestic Workers attend the event. Anew timeframe for completion of the draft policy by end of 2015 was supported. Various presentations were given y ILO specialists on the following topics: "Global, regional and sub-regional policy frameworks on labour migration"; "BLAs on Labour Migration: Examples of good practice” ; “Convention 189 on Domestic Workers”; "The Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and its achievements”.

  2. Tackling child labour in supply chains - Child Labour Platform (CLP) Meeting

    16 - 17 July 2015

    During the meeting, a member company will share its experience on integrating labour rights into business operations, followed by an in-depth discussion.

    13 - 16 July 2015

    The conference will gather high-level political representatives, including Heads of State and Government, and Ministers of Finance, Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, as well as all relevant institutional stakeholders, non-governmental organizations and business sector entities. The Conference will result in an intergovernmentally negotiated and agreed outcome, which should constitute an important contribution to and support the implementation of the post-2015 development agenda.

  5. International Ebola Recovery Conference

    9 - 10 July 2015

    The Conference offered an opportunity to discuss detailed country-based and regional anti-Ebola strategies, and provide a platform to secure pledges of international support that can complement African Union-led efforts and help fill technical and resource gaps.
