  3. Workshop to prepare for a Sector Study in Ghana (ECLM project)

    A Workshop was held in Accra from May 3-7 in the context of the project "Assessing the economic contribution of labour migration in developing countries as countries of destination" (ECLM). The Workshop was organized in collaboration with the Centre for Migration Studies (University of Ghana), and discussed the implementation of a study of the mining and trade sectors.   3. Launch of Migrant Resource Centre - Lahore

    Department of labour and Human Resource Punjab has established a first ever Migrant Resource Centre in Lahore. The centre will provide a range of services to intended migrant workers, migrant workers and their families, counselling, pre-departure orientation and referral to save migrant workers from exploitation and abuse in the migration cycle. The department has established this centre and planned an inauguration of the centre in November with the support of EU funded ILO project “South Asia Labour Migration Governance”.
