  1. Launch of the Code of Conduct on Ethical Recruitment for Overseas Employment

    Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA) will unveil their National Action Plan (NAP) on Ethical Recruitment and will sign the code of conduct to show their commitment and action to promote ethical recruitment practices in Pakistan. POEPA has developed their sectoral Code of Ethical Conduct and NAP with the technical and financial support from ILO under EU funded project “South Asia Labour Migration Governance”.

  2. Launch and presentation of the ILO Report: “What Works: Active Labour Market Policies in Latin America and the Caribbean”

    The ILO Research Department and the ILO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean launched the Synthesis Report and research project “What Works: Active Labour Market Policies in Latin America and the Caribbean” on 21 June 2016 in Lima (Peru). On the occasion of the launch, a seminar was also organized to present the findings of the report to policy makers, leading academics and international experts in the region. The forum offered an opportunity to discuss the role of active labour market programmes in addressing the current employment and social challenges in the region.

  3. Expert workshop "Measuring Modern Slavery" - Fourth Meeting

    15 - 16 June 2016

    This meeting is planned as a follow up of the first three meetings in April, September and December 2015 in the framework of the work on the SDGs indicators. Its objective is to review the work done during the first three meetings and informing new participants on the global objectives of this working group, to share the results of the discriminant analysis made on the FL survey from Myanmar and to work on the operational definition and measurement framework of bonded labour.

  4. Launch of the Global Terminology Guidelines for the protection of children from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse

    The Global Terminology Guidelines for the protection of children from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse will be jointly launched by ECPAT International and the Interagency Working Group on Sexual Exploitation of Children at a side event during the 32nd Human Rights’ Council session.

  5. World of work summit 2016: Decent Jobs for Youth

    Framed within the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, this year’s International Labour Conference will hold a World of Work Summit on 9 June to inform on the Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth and the ILO’s role with a view to scaling up action and impact, and shaping the future of work for youth.
