The ILO Decent Work Research Prize Award Ceremony 2011

The ceremony and public lectures of the co-winners of the Decent Work Research Prize Award, Jayati Ghosh (India) and Eve Landau (Israel and Switzerland) will take place on Friday 11 November 2011 at 1.30 p.m. Room II, R3-South, ILO Headquarters, Geneva. There will be interpretation in English, French and Spanish.

The Decent Work Research prize has been awarded since 2007 for major contributions to the analysis of decent work, labour law and social justice. This year, the Decent Work Research Prize rewards two leading female academics with a strong research record on equity, development and macroeconomic policies.

The ceremony and public lectures of the co-winners of the Decent Work Research Prize Award, Jayati Ghosh (India) and Eve Landau (Israel and Switzerland) will take place on Friday 11 November 2011 at 1.30 p.m. Room II, R3-South, ILO Headquarters, Geneva. Professor Jayati Ghosh of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (India) is the Executive Secretary of the International Development Economics Associates (IDEAS) for major scholarly contributions to the analysis of decent work in the context of globalization, as well as the inter-linkages between employment, gender and development. Professor Ghosh has authored several books and many articles around issues of development and decent work.

Professor Eve C. Landau, an academic and Director of Studies at the International Faculty of Comparative Law in Luxembourg has been acknowledged for her academic contribution to the advancement of knowledge on ILO standards, labour law and social justice. Her research and teaching publications have been a source of inspiration for many students, judges and lawyers. She has published several books on equality and work and many scholarly articles.
