High-level panel on key policy responses to the financial and economic crisis - 8th ILO European Regional Meeting in Lisbon

A panel of top European leaders, including Moldovan Prime Minister Zinaida Greceanii and Czech Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Vondra, joined ILO Director-General Juan Somavia for a high-level discussion on measures governments, workers and employers are adopting to mitigate the negative impact of the economic crisis. Other participants included the Portuguese Labour Minister José de Vieira da Silva, his Luxembourg counterpart Francois Biltgen, as well the President of the Portuguese Industrial Association - Business Confederation (AIP-CE), Jorge Rocha de Matos, and Ms Anne Demelenne, General Secretary of the Belgian General Trade Union Confederation (FGTB).
