Unemployment to rise by 20 million: An interview with Juan Somavia, Director-General of the ILO

The global financial crisis could increase world unemployment by an estimated 20 million women and men, the Director-General of the International Labour Office (ILO) said today. “The important thing is not to forget that the financial crisis is affecting real people in their life, in their family life and in communities, it's affecting the real economy,” he added.
