The 95th International Labour Conference (ILC) will take place from 31 May to 16 June 2006 in the Palais des Nations, 8-14 avenue de la Paix, Geneva, Switzerland. The Conference is the annual tripartite meeting of the International Labour Organization's 178 member States. Latin America faces a formal employment deficit of 126 million jobs, International Labour Organization Director-General Juan Somavia said today, while presenting "An Agenda for the Hemisphere" which contains recommendations on how to generate decent work over the coming decade. The Agenda is to be discussed at the ILO's Sixteenth American Regional Meeting which opens in the Convention Centre here Wednesday.
