   As the football World Cup in South Africa kicks off, the International Labour Organization (ILO) marked the World Day Against Child Labour with an urgent appeal to “go for the goal – end child labour,” calling particular attention to the target of eliminating the worst forms of child labour by 2016.

   A proposed new labour standard on HIV/AIDS in the world of work has received solid support from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization during the annual meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.

   Denmark makes DKK 40 million contribution to the ILO

   The Government of Denmark will contribute DKK 40 million (approximately US$ 7.1 million) in flexible and predictable resources to the Regular Budget Supplementary Account (RBSA) of the International Labour Organization/Office, the ILO said.
