    Kyoto (ILO News): The Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Mr Juan Somavia, warned that “dark clouds” are gathering again in Asia, even as growth rebounds and investment is flowing back. Asia’s economy is more open than ever before but with the risk of the global economy slipping into a double-dip recession, this openness has positive as well as negative implications.

  1. 10th anniversary of the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation between the ILO and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of China

    In 2001 China's Ministry of Labour and Social Security signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Labour Organization (ILO) launching a programme of cooperation based on the ILO's Decent Work agenda to support national reform in China and social progress worldwide. Ten years after its adoption, the 6th Joint Committee review took place in Beijing from 28 November to 1 December 2011.
