In an interview with Euronews, Guy Ryder who takes over as Director General of the ILO in October, called for targeted plans to generate decent work and skills development for young people. According to ILO estimates, youth employment guarantee schemes can cost governments as little as 0.5 percent of their overall spending and would go a long way in avoiding a lost generation of workers.
