Brazil has launched a series of conferences on job creation and decent work in an effort to promote social dialogue on a scale that is unprecedented anywhere in the world, said the ILO Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Elizabeth Tinoco.

Singapore has ratified the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) with the full support of tripartite partners – the seafarer unions and the National Trades Union Congress, as well as the maritime industry and the Singapore National Employers Federation.

The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women) signed a wide-ranging Memorandum of Understanding with the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva, Monday 13 June, on key issues including promoting gender equality, eliminating sex discrimination, protecting domestic workers, promoting social protection floors and combating gender-based violence at work.
