ILO to publish World Employment and Social Outlook 2016: Trends for Youth

GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to launch its new report, World Employment and Social Outlook 2016: Trends for Youth on Wednesday, 24 August at 20:00 GMT.

The new research provides updated figures on global and regional youth unemployment.

It also looks at working poverty rates, decent work opportunities in both developed and developing economies as well as gender inequalities and migration trends among young people.

Embargoed electronic copies of the report, and associated media material will be made available to journalists upon request, starting on the morning of Wednesday, 24 August, by contacting newsroom@ilo.org

For Geneva UN correspondents: A press briefing by Lawrence J. Johnson, Deputy Director, ILO Research Department and ILO Senior Economist Steven Tobin will be held, under embargo, on Wednesday, 24 August at 10:30 a.m. in press room 1 at the Palais des Nations. The embargoed report will be sent to them automatically as soon as it becomes available.

The report and all associated material and information are under strict embargo until 20.00 GMT (22:00 Geneva time) on Wednesday, 24 August.
