GENEVA ‒ A new ILO report on the importance of the workplace in the fight against HIV and AIDS ‒ Leaving No One Behind: Reaching Key Populations through Workplace action ‒ will be launched at a satellite session of the International AIDS Conference (IAC) in Melbourne on Sunday 20th July at 13:30 local time.

The study provides 42 innovative examples from 28 countries in different regions of how the workplace or workplace structures can be used to provide HIV services to key and hard to reach populations.

The launch, on 20 July, organized with the Inter-Agency Task Team will feature interventions from Alice Ouedraogo, ILOAIDS; Richard Burzynski, UNAIDS; Julian Hows, Global Network of People Living with HIV (GNP+), Amitrajit Saha, UNDP; Arthur Lim; and Salvatore Marra, Confederazione Generale Italiana del Lavoro (CGIL); and Chun Bora, Asia Pacific Business Coalition on AIDS.

The ILO will also participate in a number of other key sessions at the IAC in Melbourne and present good practice examples and lessons from the HIV response in the world of work.

These include ‘Global Village’ sessions on the Impact of travel restrictions on universal access from the perspectives of migrant sending and receiving countries on 23 July, and Making HIV testing happen: A shared responsibility on 24 July, as well as a number of high-level workshops, including on using the law to defend human rights in the HIV epidemic: courts in action, on 21 July.
