GB.313 High Level Section guest speaker, Professor Ian Goldin

Professor Ian Goldin from Oxford University, addressed the High Level Section of the Governing Body of the ILO on Monday, 26 March.

Professor Goldin was Vice President of the World Bank from 2003 to 2006 and has served as an adviser to President Nelson Mandela.

Professor Goldin has had a long and distinguished career in international development policy and is currently the Director of the Oxford Martin School. He has held several senior posts at the World Bank and at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) and has also served as an adviser to President Nelson Mandela.

Professor Goldin has published over 14 books and 50 articles. His most recent book, Globalization for Development: Meeting New Challenges, coauthored with Kenneth Reinert, explores the relationship between globalization and poverty reduction and development, examining the question of whether major globalization processes contribute to overcoming poverty or make it worse.
