RBCLAC Fund for the promotion of responsible business conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean
The CERALC Project
Implemented by the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), and financed and designed in collaboration with the Union European Union (EU), the Responsible Business Conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean (CERALC) project aims to promote smart, sustainable and inclusive growth by supporting Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) practices, in line with United Nations instruments, the ILO and the OECD.
The objective of the project is to promote smart, sustainable and inclusive growth both in the EU and in Latin America and the Caribbean, by supporting responsible business conduct practices, in line with United Nations, ILO and OECD instruments. The Project combines regional and national activities. These activities are implemented in nine countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, and Peru.
The CERALC Fund
The CERALC Fund has provided direct financing opportunities for initiatives in the region that contributed to the promotion and implementation of Responsible Business Conduct (RBC). The funded proposals have contributed to raising awareness of the benefits and positive impacts of RBC among governments, businesses (including SMEs), employers' and workers' organizations, and other civil society actors.
Specific objectives
- Facilitate collaboration between Responsible Business Conduct initiatives.
- Facilitate the development of activities conceived and executed by non-profit entities that promote and strengthen the adoption of RBC practices to be implemented by Latin American, Caribbean, and European companies, including, among others, SMEs.
