Red Card to Child Labour

Behind-the-scenes: Aerial art in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

As part of the launch of the 2014 edition of the Red Card to Child Labour Campaign, the ILO commissioned aerial artist John Quiqley to create a giant image on Botafogo Beach in Rio de Janeiro that could be photographed from the air. More than one thousand volunteers, both young and old, came together to raise awareness of the 168 million child labourers worldwide by creating a colourful human pinwheel -- the symbol for the International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (IPEC). Watch the highlights capturing the spirit of the event.
