ILO to issue new report on the status of women in the world of work
GENEVA – On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), the International Labour Organization (ILO) will publish a new report entitled “Women at Work: Trends 2016”, and hold an interactive panel discussion on how to harness the newly adopted 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda to deliver on decent work for women.
The Women at Work report provides the latest ILO data on women’s position in labour markets, examines the factors behind these trends and explores the policy drivers for transformative change.
An Executive Summary of the report will be available in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Russian.
The report will be under strict media embargo for publication on or after 1700 GMT on 7 March.
Electronic copies of the embargoed executive summary and the report will be made available to journalists (only) upon request starting on Monday, 7 March in the morning (Geneva time).

The event will start at 11:00 in Room II of the ILO Headquarters in Geneva. The panel will discuss new approaches to promoting gender equality, ending all forms of discrimination against women in the world of work, and achieving full and productive employment and decent work for all by 2030 under the Sustainable Development Agenda.
