ILO to launch a new report on the Portuguese job crisis

The International Labour Organization (ILO) will launch a new report analysing the impact of the global economic crisis on the Portuguese labour market on Monday, 4 November.

The report - “Tackling the job crisis in Portugal” - looks at the socio-economic situation in the country and its impact on the labour market. It also presents a series of policy recommendations to move towards a more job-centred approach.

The study and all related material are under embargo until Monday, 4 November at 00:01GMT (01:01am Geneva time).

The report is being launched ahead of a high-level conference in Lisbon on 4 November, which will bring together representatives from the Portuguese government, trade unions and employers. ILO Director-General Guy Ryder will also attend the meeting. (The Conference is not open to the media.)
