  • At least 52 million are employed as domestic workers worldwide.
  • 83 per cent are women, accounting for at least 7.5 per cent of women's wage employment.
  • 29.9 per cent are excluded from the scope of national labour legislation.
  • 45 per cent have no entitlement to weekly rest day.
  • More than a third of women domestic workers have no right to maternity leave.
