Global Campaign "Decent Work for All"

The ILO is launching a new multi-media global campaign called “Decent Work for All” that aims to inject decent work messages into the global knowledge base and bridge the gap between policy and practice. The campaign focuses on people and their view of decent work. At a time of reflection during the global jobs crisis, the ILO is working to mainstream decent work in the international agenda and focusing on decision-makers and the multiplier effect of their constituents: governments, employers and workers, international organizations, parliaments, the private sector, civil society and non-governmental organizations, academia and think-tanks.

Decent work is more than just a job

Since its first mention as a concept in 1999 , decent work has evolved from an ILO goal into a global objective, reaching a high level of acceptance by other UN agencies and being endorsed as a Development Goal by ECOSOC at its 2006 Substantive Session. The International Labour Organization launches the Global Campaign "Decent Work for ALL" as a means to reach out to a global community concerned with finding sustainable solutions to the jobs crisis.
