Tripartite Meeting of Experts on Labour Statistics: The Updating of the International Standard Classification of Occupations, ISCO-88
The meeting of experts is expected to discuss and adopt ISCO-08, the updated version of ISCO-88. It is expected that ISCO-08 will be incorporated by countries in their preparations for the 2010 round of Population Censuses. ISCO-08 will be made available in at least English, French and Spanish.

International Day of Disabled Persons – 3 December 2007
Observed for 15 years, the International Day of Disabled Persons, 3 December, aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. This year's IDDP focuses on the right of persons with disabilities to have a decent work, on an equal basis with others.

Interregional Symposium on the Informal Economy - Enabling transition to formalization
The tripartite Symposium on the informal economy is convened on the basis of a Governing Body decision in March 2006 to provide a forum for in-depth technical discussion on recent policy responses that are being developed for enabling the transition to formalization. The Symposium will review, share and disseminate information on the effective experience developed in the different countries as well as regions. The Symposium will bring together expertise from governments, employers and workers organizations. In addition, a selected number of researchers, practitioners and institutions will contribute to the discussion.

The Forum will draw prominent executives and labour representatives from around the world, and provide an extraordinary platform for sharing and exploring how effective practices in promoting labour principles can stimulate growth and enhance competitiveness.
