• ILO calls for new efforts to support people with disabilities in the world of work
  03 December 2007 - Despite significant progress in recent years in improving their livelihoods, new efforts are needed to break down barriers that still prevent millions of people with disabilities from working and contributing to the economic growth of their societies, according to a new ILO report released for the International Day of Disabled Persons.

  03 December 2007 - Academy-award winning actress Marlee Matlin delivered a message for the International Day of Disabled Persons calling for equal opportunity, equal treatment and decent work for persons with disabilities.

• ILO Governing Body concludes 300th session: considers Labour situation in Myanmar, Belarus, and other countries as well as climate change and decent work
  16 November 2007 - The Governing Body of the International Labour Office (ILO) concluded its 300th session following wide-ranging discussions among its government, employer and worker members on basic labour rights in Myanmar, Belarus and other countries as well as the impact of climate change on jobs, corporate social responsibility, and the implications of United Nations (UN) reform on ILO technical cooperation.

  13 November 2007 - A new publication entitled “Trade Union Responses to Globalization: A Review by the Global Union Research Network” is to be released today by the International Labour Office (ILO).

  12 November 2007 - The International Labour Organization is to mark the 30th anniversary of the ILO’s Declaration on Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy on 15-16 November with a high-level forum gathering corporate, labour and civil society leaders at ILO headquarters in Geneva.

  01 November 2007 - The Governing Body of the International Labour Office (ILO) will address a range of issues at its 300th session beginning, including basic labour rights in Myanmar, Belarus and other countries, trade and employment, UN reform, the impact of climate changes on jobs, development and the Millennium Development Goals.

• ILO Forum to discuss impact of economic situation on globalization, decent work
  30 October 2007 - In the face of an increasingly turbulent and imbalanced global economy, representatives of governments, labour and employers will be joined by leaders from parliaments, academia and civil society on 31 October for a three-day ILO Forum on Decent Work for a Fair Globalization.
• ILO Forum on Decent Work for a Fair Globalization to be held in Lisbon
  26 October 2007 - An ILO Forum on Decent Work for a Fair Globalization will be held in the Portuguese capital on 31 October to 2 November to discuss a wide range of globalization issues and seek ways of promoting decent work as the key to economic, social and environmental sustainability and inclusiveness.
• ILO Decent Work Research Prize 2008: Call for nominations
  24 October 2007 - The International Labour Organization today calls for nominations for the 2008 " ILO Decent Work Research Prize" to recognize outstanding contributions to the advancement of knowledge on the ILO's central goal of decent work for all.

  21 September 2007 - More than 70 senior representatives of workers and employers organizations, along with governments, gather here on 24-27 September to discuss the impact of globalizing food chains on the 22 million people employed in the food and drink processing industry worldwide.

  17 September 2007 - The International Labour Organization (ILO) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) – the private sector arm of the World Bank Group – have selected Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) to lead an international buyers’ consultative forum for their joint global Better Work programme.
• New ILO report says US leads the world in labour productivity, some regions are catching up, most lag behind
  02 September 2007 - While productivity levels have increased worldwide over the past decade, gaps remain wide between the industrialized region and most others, although some regions have begun to catch up, a new ILO report says, adding that major cause of world poverty is waste of workers' productive potential.

  24 August 2007 - The International Labour Office (ILO) is to issue its new biennial Key Indicators of the Labour Market (KILM) which provides a comprehensive analysis of the global labour market using world and regional estimates and country-level data.
• ILO Asia-Pacific employment forum opens in Beijing - Hears call for integrating sustainable development and decent work
  13 August 2007 - The Director-General of the International Labour Organization Juan Somavia today called on delegates at an ILO Asian Forum on Growth, Employment and Decent Work to forge policies aimed at creating a new paradigm “integrating sustainable development and decent work”.
