Geneva (ILO News) – The President of the Argentine Republic, Cristina Fernández, and the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, sent a joint communication to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Gordon Brown.
In their communication to the Prime Minister, both leaders called for the ILO’s participation in the meetings of the G-20, taking into account the experience of this Organization in promoting social dialogue, advocating social justice and developing its Decent Work Agenda.
The Heads of State referred to the commitment made at the G-20 Summit held on 2 April 2009, aimed among other things at supporting the creation of employment opportunities and building a fair labour market.
