• ILO Forum Marking 30th anniversary of the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles on Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy.
  15 November 2007 - This year, the ILO marks the 30th Anniversary of one of its most significant achievements – the adoption of the ILO Tripartite Declaration of Principles concerning Multinational Enterprises and Social Policy. The anniversary forms the basis for “MultiForum 07” which begins today, and brings together around 200 participants from companies, governments and labour organizations from around the world.

  12 November 2007 - Diabetes is a disease that currently affects more than 180 million people in the world. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this number is likely to more than double by 2030.
• Green Jobs and global warming: ILO to discuss new initiatives for tackling climate change in the world of work
  08 November 2007 - Climate change is widely seen as a threat to our health, our wealth and our planet. Yet, it also presents huge opportunities for the creation of new jobs aimed at mitigating its effects through energy and industrialization policies. The 300th session of the ILO’s Governing Body will consider new initiatives for tackling the issue in the world of work.

  30 October 2007 - Political and opinion leaders from around the globe will meet in Lisbon, Portugal from 31 October to 2 November 2007 to discuss the role of decent work as the key to economic, social and environmental sustainability and a fair and inclusive globalization.

• World Teachers’ Day 2007 - Teacher shortages in education: Achieving quality education for all
  04 October 2007 - It is a paradox: as the importance of education for knowledge- and information-based societies grows, the world is facing a shortage of qualified teachers. Moreover, according to some international estimates, 18 million new teachers will be needed over the next decade to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015 as stated in the MDGs and by the Education for All movement.
