Social Protection Expenditure and Performance Reviews
Social Protection Expenditure and Performance Reviews (SPERS) are a series of comprehensive evaluations of individual countries’ social protection mechanisms and coverage. SPERS are conducted by the Social Security Department of the International Labour Office (ILO) and seek to provide a comprehensive overview of social protection measures in a country and its accompanying expenditure. SPERS aim to not only guide a country in its extension of social security, but to also create internationally comparable statistics on social protection.
