This DWCP and its priorities and outcomes are agreed upon after an extensive process of consultation with ILO's constituents in the country. The strategic priorities and outcomes will be pursued during the period 2017-2021 through joint action of the authorities and Social Partners in Albania and the ILO. Within the overarching theme of “Decent Work for All” the ILO will concentrate on three country programme priorities in Albania in the period 2017-2021.

Namely,
I. Promoting employment and an enabling environment for sustainable enterprises,
II. Strengthened capacity of government institutions and social partners for effective social dialogue and
III. Enhanced social protection and conditions of work.

The current DWCP supports achieving results in line with the country’s strategic priorities as spelled out in the National Strategy for Development and Integration (NSDI II), 2015-2020, the One UN Programme of Cooperation for Sustainable Development (2017-2021) of the Government of Albania and United Nations, as well as the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (mainly SDG- 8).

Increased coherence with UN and stronger partnerships are key underlying principles for the operationalization of this document. This document should be considered flexible and it should adapt to the evolving national context, priorities and demands.
