  1. Skills for a Resilient Youth in the Era of COVID-19 and Beyond

    The World Youth Skills Day 2020 took stock of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on skills development and explore how young people can respond to the economic crisis. The focus was on helping young people be more resilient to changes caused by the current crisis and in the world of work in general.

  2. ILO Global Summit on COVID-19 and the World of Work – Building a better future of work: Europe and Central Asia regional event

    This half-day high profile regional event aims at drawing lessons from the COVID-19 crisis, especially the policies and practices implemented to address its economic and social impact. Tripartite participants from all parts of Europe and Central Asia will share experiences and discuss ways and means to apply the Centenary Declaration for the Future of Work to the post-pandemic recovery.

    Over a hundred years, the ILO has developed International Labour Standards and Policy Responses to mitigate the effects of employment and social crises. 2020 will be remembered as the year the world of work was brought to its knees by the COVID-19 pandemic. ​The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how hasards move in a globalized world. It has highlighted the need to use the tools that are available for countering social and economic crises and securing the safety and health of workers. This book traces the development of these tools and the ways in which they have been successfully applied over the last hundred years.
