    The report captures the immediate effects of the pandemic on the lives of young people (aged 18–29) with regards to employment, education, mental well-being, rights and social activism. Over 12,000 responses were received from young people in 112 countries.

    The COVID-19 crisis has had a major impact on employment in China. From the onset of the crisis, the Government adopted a wide range of policies to support enterprises and protect workers. These policies have prioritized employment, though not all policies have been yet fully implemented. Stronger implementation and more integrated employment policies are needed, while continuing to adapt to the economic recovery in a more flexible and fragile labour market.

  17. Papua New Guinea Project Brief

    This project brief describes the Employment-Intensive Recovery and Reconstruction Response (E3R) project to mitigate the impact of a series of 7.5 and a 6.7 magnitude that hit the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, between the 26 of February and 8 of March 2019. By using a local-resource based strategy, the ILO was able to assist successfully in the construction of gravity fed water supply systems and contribute to the transition towards livelihoods recovery.
